Our client is a leading provider of social care services, including supported living, residential homes and resource centres.
The specialist care provider needed a new website that put its users in control, enabling them to easily search for and locate facilities near them. They also needed to deliver as much information as possible to allow users to make an informed decision when choosing a care home. There were some technical challenges involved in this brief, as the search and information delivery functions on the site often needed to second-guess what users were looking for as well as making searching as easy as possible.
Web Made Good worked with partner agency PKD to create a user-centred design system. PKD provided the design elements while we built the engine of the site, a location-based search system that helps users identify and locate the most appropriate service for their needs.
We also designed tools that allow the specialist care provider to keep this information up to date, devolving control over different areas of the site to relevant departments. A news archive with Twitter integration was one of the many tools and features we added to the site.
Web Made Good and PKD have become long-term partners with this project, working to evolve the site and develop the brand and the marketing side of the business. We recently launched a responsive version of the site, and a new enhanced map-search system.
